YOUR MEMORIES BELONG TO YOU
Privacy & your memories
Here is how this version of The Memory Pawject handles your book.
Your draft stays on your device
The book builder stores one draft, including your words and processed photos, in this browser on this device. When you begin checkout, we save your questionnaire answers, cover choices, dedication, and selected reference photo in protected site storage. After payment, your questionnaire answers are sent through our server to OpenAI to write an original story. Your selected reference photo and the resulting story scenes are then sent to OpenAI to create cartoon illustrations. We share only the selected reference photo, not your entire photo collection. Later illustrations also use the first cartoon as a visual reference. Paid writing and illustration requests are stored for retrieval so work can resume if you leave the page. Owner preview writing requests may be processed without stored responses. OpenAI’s API retention policies apply to those requests. Someone with access to this browser profile may be able to open your draft.
Your draft, including manual edits and additional photos, is stored locally. Your private purchase link can recover the original purchased story and generated illustrations, but does not replace a full backup of your own edits. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, switching browsers, or moving to another web address can make the draft unavailable. Use “Download a draft backup” to keep a separate copy. A backup includes your photos and memories; store and share it thoughtfully.
Illustration progress
We keep the illustration plan, selected reference photo, generated artwork, and progress in protected site storage. A private token saved in your draft and backup allows the builder to retrieve your artwork. Do not share the backup unless you intend to share your book. Purchased illustration sessions expire one year after checkout. Earlier owner preview sessions expire after seven days. Expired work files are removed as the site processes subsequent illustration requests. Completed images also remain in your device’s draft, so your finished book does not depend on the temporary session.
Your latest previous book version is kept in the draft when you create a replacement. You can restore it in the builder. Uploaded reference photos guide an artistic interpretation; illustrations are not photographs of the actual event.
AI revision requests
When you request changes, we save your request, the current story wording, selected scenes, and up to two labeled reference photos in protected site storage. The editor sends the request, relevant story details, existing illustration, and selected revision references to OpenAI. Unselected photos in your draft are not sent. Revision results and progress are saved so an interrupted request can resume. Your private purchase link also gives access to your latest accepted AI revision during the one-year online creation period. Manual edits made afterward still need a full draft backup. Revision records and files are retained for fulfillment and support; contact the shop to request removal where applicable. Stripe processes additional revision payments and applicable tax.
Your photos and downloaded book
Photos are resized in your browser for the book. Your original files are not changed. The downloaded PDF uses high-resolution images of the book pages, so its text is not selectable. The builder also provides a text view of every preview page.
PDFs and draft backups are created on your device. Downloading a book does not place a printing order. If you prepare a printed book, the interior and cover PDFs are uploaded to protected site storage and made available to Lulu through links that expire after seven days. Lulu checks those files for printing. The print files and order records are retained for fulfillment and customer support; you may contact the shop to request removal where applicable. If you send a file to a printer or another person, that recipient will receive its contents under their own handling practices.
Digital purchases
Stripe processes your $3.99 digital book payment and applicable tax. Our site records the purchase, payment status, and a hashed private access token. Your saved purchase link and draft backup contain the private token. Anyone with that link or backup can access the purchase, so keep it private. We retain purchase records and the original creation inputs for fulfillment and support. Contact info@thememorypawject.com to request access or removal, subject to records we need to retain for completed transactions.
Printed book orders
When you request a print quote, your delivery name, address, email, and phone number are sent to Lulu to check delivery and pricing. When you continue to checkout, your contact and delivery details are sent to Stripe. You enter card details directly on Stripe; this site does not receive or store your full card number. After a confirmed payment, Lulu receives the approved book files and delivery details to print and ship your book.
Your private order link lets you view the order status. Treat it like a private document link. Do not post it publicly.
Removing a draft
“Start another book” replaces this browser’s current draft after you confirm. You can also remove this site’s stored data in your browser settings. Files you already downloaded remain on your device until you delete them.
Site hosting
The site’s hosting provider processes the technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, which may include connection information and request logs. Any hosting sign-in or platform cookies are governed by the provider’s policies. This book builder does not include advertising or third-party analytics scripts.
A book made with care
Add only photos and words you have permission to use. Before ordering a printed copy, check the printer’s page size, resolution, bleed, cover, and minimum page requirements. Your PDF is a personal keepsake. Our print ordering flow prepares separate interior and cover files, including the size and bleed required for the selected hardcover.
